Welcome
to the immersive world of hidden energy fields

Electromagnetic topography
is the arbitrary title given to Dave Shulman’s ever expanding research into the ubiquitous electromagnetic radiation pervading our everyday urban enviroment.
Combining improvisatory methods of critical making and researching with psycho-geographical modes of connecting with spaces, it is a continuation of the outcomes of his time studying Information Experience Design at the RCA.
Utilising ambisonics and sound spatialisation in addition to experimenting with DIY haptic sound diffusion headgear, the main mode of documenting this research is currently 360 video.

Technological assemblage

The sensors in the above assemblage convert unseen electrical energy into sound via a multi channel recorder which is spatialised by stereo panners during the sound walk, later ‘tuned’ and processed with ambisonic panners for documentation
